As Washington County’s premiere healthcare provider, we have chosen
to continue our tradition of leadership and take the steps necessary to anticipate
and meet the needs of the people we serve.
That is what we have done for more than 110 years and this is what we will
do in the decades to come.
To fulfill this mission and the rapidly expanding healthcare needs of our
community, we are embarking on the largest expansion project in the hospital’s
history. This three-year, $64 million project will result in:
- Four new operating rooms with additional recovery (PACU)
and surgical support space.
- Relocation of Outpatient Services Unit (OPSU) and Pre-admission
and Testing (PAT) Center.
- New 26-bed Critical Care Unit (CCU).
- New and larger, state-of-the-art, Emergency Department – 32
Treatment and 6 Holding Rooms (23,400 square feet).
- New Stores/Receiving Area.
- Additional parking.
Two new wings will be built to accommodate these service areas. The new Emergency Department will be housed in a wing built on the site of the existing ED parking deck. The Stores / Receiving area will be located beneath the new ED. This will require relocation of Larch Street.
The second wing, built over the hospital’s main visitor parking deck,
will be home to the new operating rooms, recovery (PACU) and surgical support
space, Outpatient Services Unit (OPSU) and Pre-admission and Testing (PAT)
Center, and Critical Care Unit.
